    Mississippi pics

This is the one kilted pic I have from Mississippi. A young lady was tripping all over herself to get a shot and she kindly e-mailed it to me.

Here's a link (hopefully) for other pics of the trip. I didn't get tons and you'll see many are taken from the van. We didn't want to stop and gawk at people in their misery. I just couldn't carry the camera around on the work sites very easily. http://photobucket.com/albums/v300/macsim/

Me, kilted in the gym. Note supplies in the background. This is where we organized things and ate our meals.

Great shot of you kilted, sort of mind boggling of the other shots with all that destruction. You are helping keeping things in perspective with them.

    macsim,

Those are some sad pics (mostly---the kilted shots look great though ) you show via the link...incomprehensible is the only thing that comes to my mind when trying to understand the magnitude of the damage caused.

Not to get off the subject but I also find the rumors/stories of people who've wrongfully claimed displaced pets very distressing---what an inconceivable and horrendous act. And as a dog owner (we have a black Labrador/Flatcoated Retriever mix named Seamus), I'll readily admit I still feel like bawling when I recall the video shot of that yellow Labrador Retriever left sitting on the submerged rooftop of someone's home. :-( Not to blow my own trumpet, but I would've dropped the camera in the boat and swam to rescue him, even if I can barely walk [some days].

Anyway, thanks for sharing the pics---I'm glad you got to go and help out. Bravo.

The kilt pic is great. As for the others.... I've been helping with relief work in Florida and the gulf coast for about five years. You can never get used to the amount of destruction these storms cause. Thanks for sharing them with us.
