    More Dickens-Gender Bender

Did I grab you with the title? I do try.

I have mini kilts, I have Renaissance Faire outfits, I have a fantasy leather dress, Jessica Rabbit costume, Poison Ivy costume, and even a few corsets...

But, I do not have a good Victorian outfit, and I have not had the time lately to come up with one, so...

I decided to steal my husband's clothing again.

We packed up the kids and went to The Great Dickens Christmas Faire.

Jamie dressed his best and I just tagged along in men's clothing (definitely more comfortable than women's clothing in Victorian times!)

We walked in the door and I was immediately swept into a fast waltz, by a very gracious gentleman (who either likes to dance with other gentlemen or was not easily deceived by my attire). An attempt was made to catch this on still film, but, it was not very successful:

We met many kilted gentlemen. Here are a few representative samples:

Jamie met a redhead and crew (of the Airship Aurora):

They showed him very little respect as an airship captain himself!

Jamie and I enjoyed a few spirits and libations.

And I let down my hair and found my own redhead....

I kind of wonder whether it was the gin and tonic or the subject of the photo that made Jamie incapable of staying in focus. This would have been a really cool picture if it were in focus. I suggest trying to look at it after about 6 drinks, or just take off your glasses and squint!

    A family picture to come...

    We didn't forget the kids!

They enjoyed booting cats (they were actually rather frightenly good at it)

And they loved all the steam punk stuff.

This was our first time at Dickens Faire (surprisingly enough) and we had a very good time.

Of course, I lost my drivers license there and will soon be losing large amounts of time and patience at the DMV trying to get it replaced.

Next year, we're leaving the kids at home and trying to go with a larger crowd. I see lots of room for a rousing good time at this event!

    Be well,

Very nice Star. You two look great. The Dickens Faire is always a sure bet for a good time.

You look stunning as always. And Jamie is quite dapper. The wee lad looks kind of like "enough of this picture stuff, where's the fun already" on his face, the wee lass seems to be saying "my beauty is your pleasure, take more pictures!" Tour family is great and the pictures are a pleasure as always.

The two of you always seem to be doing such fun things! I'm frankly envious! Great photos!

Super photos. Now that you have borrowed Jamie's clothes we need a picture of Jamie wearing one of your mini kilts to redress the balance.

    Well, perhaps not.

Hope you get your driving licence back soon.
