More Kentucky Scottish Weekend
We arrived late and went straight to the pipe band competition. By the time that was over we were well into nap time and trying to get around the vendors with a cranky toddler. We saw John Scott (EagleJCS) over at the pipe bands and saw Kyle Macpherson (creagdhubh) on our way out. I see that Kyle got a lot of pictures with Sandy, whom we missed altogether. Most of my pictures are with this guy....
As much as I'd like for you to believe my son was pointing out the pipe bands, or the highland dancers, or the caber toss, I'm pretty sure this was when a big dumptruck went by on the highway.

Enjoying the sounds of the pipe band competition and hanging at the picnic tables.

A very serious young man.

Great pics. I seem to have the same trouble when I go anywhere. All the pictures are of my wife and sons. People are always asking what the event was, and sometimes I can tell from the pictures.

Nice!
I really dig that tartan you're wearing. What is it?

It's the Carolina district tartan. The kilt is from a special order run my brother and I had done by Lochcarron about 10 years ago. We were flying blind and let the mill choose the colors and I couldn't be happier with it. Most kilts you see in this tartan (except for a couple of pipe bands) come from Matt's STM in the more muted Wilsons colors, but I prefer this brighter pallet.
My son (pictured above) will inherit a child's kilt in the same tartan that his older brother wore several years ago. I can't wait!

I think he's in the 110th percentile for height and wait (he's only 18 months), so could be!

I must admit that I LOVE your version of the Carolina tartan far better than the one commonly seen these days (i love that one as well, though). That is truly fantastic,

Great pictures of you and your son. Love his wee kilt. Where did you get your hose, I've been looking for something in a similar colour.
