    My cheapest kilt hose.

    I got four pairs of these for less than 20 pounds on the UK ebay. That's less than a fiver each excluding shipping. They're army surplus marked: Socks Lovat Hose, Royal Regt.
    They're marked "wash as wool 40 minimum wash". They're not bad at all.
