    my first hose and flashes

On October 12, it will be a full year of only kilt wearing outside (inside when I paint, I wear cheap cloth wraps) but up until now, I have had no kilt hose. I have used leg wrappings and ties .... my frugal and affordable variant of this has been 'dollar store scarves and dollar store boot laces!)

Recently I decided to get some actual kilt jose and elastic garter flashes. In a way , I had thought these elastic garters and flashes were a bit fake but I feel it's just one other variant o holding up your leggings. I would still liek to get or make some nice tasseled garter ties too (but I still will wear my scarf leg wrappings an simple boot lace ties too - thy fit my philosophy of sort f historical attire and using what is available, useful and affordable in your environment.

Anyway, the pics aren't too good (my space is cramped and so the zoom was wide open ...so things look a bit distorted. And the photo angle and camera height make me look like I have my kilt don't passed my knee)

I decided on these dark grey hose and black flashes which look nice

(me surrounded by some of my paintings)

oh I should add .... I got these awesome new boots. My feet were killing me and my previous footwear were falling apart (the whole bottoms started coming undone and I drilled holes and held together with my trusty bootlaces). My left heal was really hurting but when I tried these on , my heal felt so much better immediately.

They are by "Keen" ..... on sale for like $90 but the next day would have gone back up to the usual $170 ...so I feel great that I got a good deal ( I don't like attire with company logos or names on them ... but these just have a small name on the back heel and underside).

I started thinking about footwear and how I've skimped on them .... but your whole foundation (connection to the Earth) is at your feet and so it should be really important to have good footwear.

Most of my shoes are Keen, also. I find them very comfortable, but try to get them only when they're on sale.

Looks good! And good choice on keens. I wear their sandals and shoes all the time, even kilted, and recently saw the boots. Glad to get a positive report on them.

Black on dark gray...I like it. It is sort of the anti-flash. I have a tie that disappears into my shirt I call my stealth tie.

Well I got the hose at the Plaid Place in downtown Halifax, Nova Scotia but I threw out the cardboard and I forget the maker but they were made in Scotland. I also got the flashes at the Plaid Place but forget all details - guess I'm not much help

They are two flashes with each two layers (two slightly shorter than the backing ones)

I'll have to order some tasseled garter ties from online (when I mentioned them there, the person didn't know what I meant)

Not sure I should post these here but since they were asked

    pugcasso.com

    dkingdking.com

My "Available section needs redoing ....and I'm currently working on paintings for a band's CD artwork so I can't add anything new on ebay until I'm done this (since they are sortof wanting a deadline).
