I'm happy with it. I'll try it out this weekend, never had a box pleated kilt before, it has some weight to it too at over 1.6kg

I bet you find the weight will fall evenly around your entire girth. My box pleat behaves differently from my knife pleated kilt. I like the swish of the knife pleat but feel secure with the box pleat when I move about more vigorously.
Different members have stated their preferences but these are my thoughts on how a kilt feels to me.
