    my first wool kilt arrived!

Five weeks to the DAY that I ordered my first "tank" from Skye Highland Outfitters it arrived in the mail!
I ordered one of their "Standard" machine sewn 16 oz in Black Stewart.
Two reasons for choosing Black Stewart:
    1. My brother has this tartan kilt already, and he's my main man for attending events kilted with. (spouse doesn't wish to go with me when
    I'm kilted, that's another story)
    2. Frankly, the Black Stewart is just more colorful than my other choice,
the Duke of Fife (see my avatar swatch).
It arrived in a US Postal medium shipping box, folded in half, NO basting stitches, which surprised me, but turned out not to be a problem at all.
First impression: "looks like my SWK acylic standard!" On closer inspection: wider color stripes, certainly heavier, and the FIT is as many have said here, "like a glove". The front under-apron appears to be a wee bit too long, but maybe I'm doing something wrong w lining it up?????
Pleasantly surprised to NOT notice any problem at all wearing this weight kilt.
An unexpected bonus: free matching flashes! (thanks Josh).
I'm happy with this purchase. It will likely be awhile before I purchase another (not because I don't want more sooner)...... so, time to work on accessories!
Now, let's see if I can post pics, these are with no ironing/touch-ups at all:

Sharp look, but leave the iron for the shirt. Get a steamer for the kilt. You'll be glad you did.

Good looking kilt. Yes, try to check lining-up for under-apron first; pull it up a bit.

More information about the material Josh at SHO chose for me, from an inquiry reply:

Yes, the material will be 16 OZ material from MartonMills. This
material has an added benefit of being coated with teflon (You can not
tell by touch, feel, or sight), and is just gorgeous!!! Rest assured
you will have an EXCELLENT kilt of which you can wear till your 115
years old!!! Your kids and grand kids will then be able to get
another 100 years out of it before it will need to be replaced!
Seriously, you will LOVE the kilt!! Regards, Josh

I'm looking forward to wearing this proudly for years to come.
Thanks for the nice comments so far, and, thanks again Josh.

    Arrived

I had to wait a bit longer for my box pleated from SHO, but the fit was perfect, didn't need to steam it, just one good shake, then I wore it all day the next day,and the next etc. now I want MORE. My SWKs fit all right but there is no comparison. Enjoy...But don't sleep in it.LOL
