My Mom's 90th Birthday
I just returned to New Mexico from celebrating my Mom's 90th birthday in Maryland.
I flew both ways kilted, and both times I was singled out to participate in the new TSA expedited screening, (shoes on, computer remains in bag, only large metal items removed, no waiting etc.). I can only guess that just by looking at me they decided that "anyone who wears a kilt on a plane is certainly not trying to blend in" and I sped through screening.
So, perhaps yet another reason to wear a kilt!
In any event the first photo is of my Mom and I at her Senior Center on Friday. I am in my MacDuff Ancient Hunting.

Here is the happy immediate family on Saturday. My brother Glenn is on the far right. We are both in our Johnston Modern kilts.

My nephew Shawn has just returned from Afghanistan. This photo is of his first kilted experience. Based upon his wife's reaction, it may not be his last!
Si Deus, quis contra? Spence and Brown on my mother's side, Johnston from my father, proud member of Clan MacDuff!

Wow your Mom does not look 90! She indeed is lucky to have many Kilted guys in her lineage. You all look grand.

Gordon: That just proves the old adage - beautiful woman, handsome son.
Hard to believe your Mom is 90. She's looking good. Great to see all the kilted gentlemen. Thanks for sharing.

I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

Congrats to your mother on her 90th, and to you too for making it through TSA in a kilt unmolested.

Assuming that TSA is security......
The last time I went through security at a Scottish airport with bagpipes as hand baggage, the 'smart ' of a security guard, obviously ex-army; thought it amusing to ask whether my drones were 7.62 or .303.......
I decided that putting on a smile and keeping silent were probably my best options.
