    My new UK

Finally got Karen to snap a pic of me in my new black Original UK. I've been wearing this out all over the city...lots of stares but no comments.
(btw...this was taken in our unfinished basement...just in case anyone thought our house had no walls due to my recent kilt-buying spree. LOL)

    Curse you!

It's pictures like that one that sorely tempt me into thinking about a solid coloured kilt.

    Bah!

    It looks good on you!

    Al, looks good on ya.

KW, contact Uncle Otto @ Utilikilts, then...

Oh, btw, Hamish, I guess I have you beat on a Utilikilt... ;-P Have a heather gray 42S Mocker, that I got for working the past two days as a quality control guy at the shop. Looks to be made out of the same kind of poly/cotton fabric used in non-wool business suits. Looks pretty dressy without looking silly like the Tuxedo UK did.

Glad you noted the picture backdrop Al. I just figured that you were in trouble with the wife for spending the funds on kilts, and you were hiding-out in an ice-fishing shanty.

Once they're softened-up a bit, the UtiliKilts are just the most useful garment that you can own. My caramel workmans is there when I'm repairing decks, doing plumbing, boating on the river, or playing on stage. The dang things are just the best when it comes to storage and usefulness. Not much for tradition or festival appeal, but then they weren't designed to be.

I actually feel bad for a real kilt lover that hasn't had the opportunity to own, or borrow, a UtiliKilt. They're something totally different, and quite fun to wear.

Hehehehe! I initially wrote the post saying that since I was spending all my money on kilts, my wife had relegated me to the garden shed. I decided to change that, just in case anyone thought I was being serious.

As for the UK...I can definitely understand the appeal of them now that I have one. I waited until I had a chance to see one in person and try it on before buying one. Pictures are good, but they sure don't really let you know what the kilt is really like. As I can afford them I'll be ordering more.
