    Question Need Kilt jacket photos

I have seen photos in the past, of jackets that have been tailored into kilt jackets. I recently bought a brown tweed jacket at the thrift store for $8, and the Korean girl at the alteration shop said she would cut it for $25. I'm happy that it will only cost $25, and not the $65 that others have posted about, but then again, I think there is a language barrier and she may not cut the jacket the way I remember seeing them in the photos on xmarks. If some of you have before and after photos, please email them to me at JayFilomena@yahoo.com

    Jay,

David gets way more points than me because he did the job himself (and a very impressive job at that). My tailor would have shortened the jacket for $35. It was making epaulets and pocket flaps that attributed to the extra charge (I think the extra bits really help turn a coat to a proper kilt jacket)

Also don't forget Alan H.'s thread on jacket conversion:

    Cheers

Check out these threads by David Dalglish. They are the best exapmle of converted jackets I have seen yet.
