New Kilt! ~ "Heritage of Ireland"

This local store called the "Plaid Place" is having a 50% off sale on everything (apparently they do every year around this time) ..... so I figured I might get this "Heritage of Ireland" tartan kilt to express my Irish ancestry on my father's parents side - and to add a bit of brighter colour.

I even wore my sporran I made (I usually have not been wearing a sporran) out of two old army boots I got second hand ... and long boot laces and laces I braided.

It's 8 yards of PV and feels like it doesn't open up quite as much if there is some windiness outside (maybe the apron isn't so wide as my other 2 kilts) so it actually might feel a bit warmer since it doesn't seem to lose all the warm air down under there if the wind picks up.

Anyway, I wore it out a lot today (walking here and there and back down to the big market .... feels pretty good

Had two comments "you must be cold in that" within 1 minute - that's a record haha

I should say, the lower edge of the kilt is like middle/upper knee-cap but due to the angle of the camera it makes it look lower - probably a common effect in kilt photos)

It looks great, and one can never begrudge a sale, particularly when kilts are involved.

Pugcasso, looks great on you. Glad you could nab a great deal on a very nice looking kilt. Always good to add to the wardrobe.

Looks great Pugcasso, an excellent score. I too need to honour my Irish heritage with a Irish tartan kilt.

thanks folks .... I went walking out to the foresty park with a friend ~ worked out well and was really comfortable out there ~ it was about 0C or at the 'freezing' point (so that's what 32 F?) but it was just totally comfortable out (I've been walking around in -10C to -20C so this was sweltering haha).

Theres a kilt pin on ebay that would be really cool .. a sword with green three-leaf shamrock on it.
