New Kilt, Higland Games & Tattoo
Over the New Year weekend my lovely Lady and myself went to the 150th Maryborough Highland Games (Maryborough is a small town in central Victoria, Australia) As said it was the 150th celebration of the highland games at this location and to mark such, a Tattoo was organised for January 2nd (usually only a one day event on Jan 1)
Also as previously promised a few action shots of my new Paterson tartan box pleated kilt by Matt Newsome featuring my new sgian dubh by Taygrd

The girl on the drum which is a tradition at the Maryborough Games along with a 100 dancers to accompany her

The Stones of Hercules, weighing from 90kg to 142kg, the idea is to pick them up, put them over the bar, in the shortest possible time.

Thanks Terry, The girl this year, continues on a tradition wherein her Mother and two older sisters have been "the girl on the drum" in past years. There is also another younger sister who is expected to take her turn when she is a wee older.

By the way, where is the flooding in relation to you?

I am well away from the floods. I am way down south of the mainland. We did have some flooding in our State in October/November but nothing on the scale our northern brothers are having, It's going to take months before they get back to anywhere like normal. The greatest effect that it will have in my neck of the woods is that fresh food prices are expected to skyrocket. Queensland and northern New South Wales are producers of vast amounts of fresh fruit, sugar and meat.
