Mr. J. Michael McRae of Scotia Metalwork has produced for me a nice new sgian dubh. I'm very pleased with his work. Very pleased indeed.
It's a lovely piece. I like the "squared" look to the handle, bolster and pommel. What type of wood is the handle? Cheers

The sheath is made from plain leather on the back, and ray skin for the "front," which should provide a bit more friction with the hose than a smooth leather. The kilt under it is the "weathered Lochaber" tartan.
That is a great blade. I've not been to his site to look around much, It is a great place to browse for a while. O'Neille
