    A new stick/cane made from re-cycled materials

As some of you know? I make walking sticks, crooks, thumbsticks, canes etc: Recently, I came across an idea!! a friend kindly gave me the top of a whisky bottle which is quite unique! it's metal, gold plated with a black stone insert I wondered what I could do with it? I came up with this, hope you like? Its amazing what you can do with a bottle top and an old snooker/pool cue

That is certainly different and unique. I rather like the 'crown'.

The crown has the words "STONE OF DESTINY" engraved on it!

    Oh Tom
    That is so wonderful!
Is it painted or engraved or both?

The top on the cane is engraved! The image's I cut from a book and stuck to the handle I buffed and feathered away the edges on the images, then re-touched them with colour finally finishing with three coats of clear laquer!

I'll finish this stick with some short text in gold lettering explaining the images. In between the images also written in gold will be the first verse of "The Skye Boat Song" eg: Speed bonnie boat like a bird on the wing! "onwards" the sailors cry! Carrying the lad that's born to be King over the sea to Skye"

We used to sing the "Sky boat" song at camp when I was a kid. But I never thought of it like that until now.

Thinking about making a similar cane to this and raffle it here in Scotland for a good cause, but the one in the thread will eventually go to my Grandson!
