New Thrifty Kilt and Sporran
I'm going to try to upload a couple of pictures of myself and the Thrifty Kilt and Sporran I just got.
My girlfriend is just shaking her head, but I'm loving it, because I think she is jealous of my legs!!!
So bare with me while I experiment!!
Aww!! Now that's Better!! I love the tutorials, they are a great help!!!

Ready to go, looking fine. I bet after a couple of outings that "she who must be obeyed" will have a markedly different attitude to your kilt wearing

I believe she thinks it cute, but is not too sure what to think yet!
My kids keep giving me a bad time and I just play along with them. It is actually really nice to not be put out or inhibited by other folks and what they think. Besides, I don't give my kids a lot of noise about their tatoos and piercings and baggy pants hanging off their butts!! lol!!!
I have no doubts about who I am and I love the idea that there are lot of other kilties out there too!
I really can't wait for my USA Semi-Traditional to come in and Artificer has me on his "to do" list for a nice sporran!!

You have selected your sporran and kilt maker very well. I have an Artificer sporran and have ordered a jacket and vest from Rocky. My grandaughter is the one who gives me the hard time (12 years old) but then she's on everyones back about everything
May you enjoy your newfound "freedom"

Thanks Downunder Kilt!
I had the pleasure of spending some time the other night with some Brothers from Marysville, Queensland, Australia, who were visiting here in the States.
We had a really pleasant evening and it was great to get news from somewhere other than at home.

I ain't gonna lie. It's not always easy. Ignorant people try to bring you down, but I can tell from that s#!+ eatin' grin in your pics that you're already past that. Plus that San Diego weather is great for kilting. So is Northwest Washington, Nebraska, South Dakota, Antarctica and Mars.
The grass is greener on the other side of the fence...and it's usually greenest right above the septic tank.

Looks great! It fits and hangs exceptionally well on you, I'd say- the length especially, which can be a problem on the SWKs for some folks, looks right on!
...and on the subject of Scott (Artificer) and his sporrans, you've made a surpassingly excelent choice! Scott's work is absolutely first-rate all the way and you'll have a sporran that's unique and will last more that one (or three) lifetimes.
Cheers!

...and so I show my kilt to my 3 year old son a few days ago, and he looks at me with that beautiful smile of his and says, "Poppa is just like a girl!". God, how I love my son....
Anyway, it's a great look! Spot on choice of tartan for you as well.
Regards,
Jeff

I appreciate the encouragement from everyone. My girlfriend was telling me this evening to go have fun at the Games, but she isn't going to be coming along. I don't think she knows what to make of it all yet, not to worry!
I posted the pic on my facebook last night and some of my friends are really giving it to me. I know that you all have probably heard it all.
My GF looked at me in disbelief and asked, "what would you do that for?" and I laughed out loud and told her that "it's been a really long time since I worried about what other folks thought about me!"
My son-in-law posted "Nice Skirt!" and of course my immediate reply was "It's a Kilt!" "Damn Englishmen!"
Like you said Whidbey78, "I'm already passed that."
Ryan Ross, despite it being really light it does fit well. I have a USA Kilt on the way and I'm looking forward to getting it soon and it's much heavier.
