    new waist coat

An early Christmas present came today.....my new waist coat

I had a lovely charcoal grey tweed day wear ensemble made up from Steve Ashton at Freedom Kilts last year and he did a grand job of building me my Victoria, city of Gardens tartan kilt in a P/V material. That was my first day wear kilt ensemble and I am very very happy with it. I can't believe how comfortable wearing a kilt is..... This photo is of a sports coat that really loved but as I grew older and changed shape, it didn't, so I had it altered to wear with my kilt. I am very happy with it, but I needed a waist coat. I visited Steve in his shop and he patiently helped me to decide what colour and material I should choose
Well the waist coat came today and it is exactly what I hoped it would be. What a treat the whole ensemble will be to wear over Christmas'
It amazes me how just by changing the colour of the hose and a shirt and tie the whole ensemble changes and every colour scheme really does look grand...........I've tried to post a few photos but am not successful. I have posted photos in the past but now when I have chosen the photo I want and tried to upload the files. a window opens and tells me I've failed, ..... too bad I'll have to seek expert advice

    I wear the kilt because:

Hi Steve I will do that. I was going to send you a couple photos anyway to show you how your work really does improve the looks of a grizzled old Logging mechanic........cheers

    waist coat

Thank-you.....I don't often wear a jacket and tie but since I started wearing my day wear kilt outfits I find they are much more comfortable to wear rather than a pair of blue jeans and a golf shirt....of course it depends on what I'm doing. I can see another kilt on the horizon. This one is a P/V material and quite light but easy to maintain. I'm looking at a Canadian Maple leaf tartan in wool as soon as I decide how I want it pleated
The sports jacket conversion was done on a very comfortable old friend you might say, but as I grew older and changed my shape the jacket didn't. I am very pleased I can wear it again

The Maple Leaf is a beautiful tartan I have one and it really is a wonderful tartan. I look forward to seeing it when it's done.
