This morning I awoke to more snow and wind, which made my previous days, work of partially shoveling the driveway a mute point. I was not able to back out of the garage, even in four-wheel drive low! I then tried to turn my SUV around but ended up being stuck in my man made snowdrift from the previous day! Once I dug myself out and was on the dirt road I discovered that I was not able to disengage the four-wheel drive low and the car was beginning to overheat at 35 MPH! I stopped on highway 24 and called my boss and he said not to worry about coming into work.
Therefore, back to bed at 0600 and I woke at 0800 to try to fix the problem but was unable remedy my situation on my own. I waited for the Nissan dealership to open and I called the service department for advice. Everything that they had told me to do I had tried at 0515! After their help and the knowledge that their were no service mechanics in until Monday I had decided to let my car rest and began the monstrous task of shoveling the driveway and back deck. After three plus hours of shoveling, I managed to clear a 73’ by 16’ path and the deck was free of the snow as well.
Before I went out, I called my boss to see how the shift was and if it was a quiet day like Christmas was, and much to my surprise, it was a very interesting and busy day.
Then after a hot toddy and a very warm shower, I decided that I would go to dinner kilted even though it was a cool 24 degrees.
I wore my WPG kilt, stable belt and old army sweater and SRT 5.11 boots.
