Nor Cal Rabble trip to Wilder Ranch SP

After our 6th successful Nor Cal Rabble Burns Night we gathered the next morning for a hearty breakfast and, as in the past, decided on a small kilted group excursion.

Since our own Alan H is always yammering on about "kilts in the wild" we decided to get Wild! Our chosen destination was the historic Wilder Ranch State Park just outside Santa Cruz

    http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=549

It was a cold and slightly drizzly day for the seaside but it turned out to be a worthwhile trip indeed

    On to the Photos!

The site has several historic buildings and we were able to tour a few them

We finished off our visit with a short walk along the coastline and enjoyed the grey skies, the beautiful coastline, and the good company

I'm so glad to have had the chance to explore Wilder Ranch in such good kilted company!

Oh, MAAAAAANNNNN.... I'm almost as annoyed that I missed this, as missing the dinner. I've been meaning to get out to Wilder Ranch for a couple of years.

You know, the coastal cliffs shots almost look like Scotland.

I agree with Alan. My first thought was it could be Ireland or Scotland.

Thanks for posting these photos, Jamie. It is good to see my old stomping grounds.

Great post and wonderful pictures! Looks like a wonderful time. Makes me add yet ANOTHER reason to return to the SF Bay Area. With any luck, perhaps a great deal of it (but I am feeling lucky), I can join the NORCAL rabble in a couple years

Fabulous pics Jamie, looks like a super day out in convivial companionship.
I agree with what has been already said by others, this coastline does indeed look as though it could be somewhere in Ireland or Scotland.
