I've always preferred to leave the jacket unbuttoned with a waistcoat (unless of course it's windy or extremely cold.) Imho, it gives a crisper look. Just my two cents worth.

Looks well put together. I, too, would leave my jacket unbuttoned. However, that is a personal preference.
I would imagine you recieved a lot of nice comments and compliments throughout the evening.
