Palm Sunday 2013

Here are some photos from last Sunday--Palm Sunday. We do a procession into the sanctuary from the Fellowship Hall, around the building outside and in through the front doors. All this is done with everyone waving palm fronds and me playing some marches, hymns (uptempo ones) and so on.
Here's me, leading out. The pleat shot. We had a sunny, although cool morning.
My accolytes were kind of all over the place. They were supposed to lead, but mostly wandered. After we all got into the sanctuary, the children gave us a song:

I could ha' used your help! Our wonderful organist had eye surgery on the Saturday preceding and we couldn't find a replacement, so we had a said service. It went surprisingly well, but I teased that we could have used a piper!

And they just rolled their eyes at me. (By the way, his is fine and healing; he expects to play this Sunday.)

The kids singing and waving palm fronds in the sanctuary looks just like our church last week. All the angels sing.
