    Panzer Mark IV and kilted

Took the boys to the tank museum in Danville VA-its one of the largest collections in the world.

What we really wanted to see was one of only seven Panzer Mark IV's still in existence.

Its very impressive but very small compared to more modern AFV's.

Here is the shirt I wore to honour my Dad's service during WWII.

Hello David White, glad to meet you.
Wow a Tank museum. I'll have to visit Danville.
I wonder who owns the other six Panzer.
Like your dad's shirt it's cute.
    Your kilt matches the tanks.

Impressive armour to be sure. Aberdeen Proving Grounds also has quite the collection including several pieces from WWI.

The patton tank museum california has a good selection of tanks as well. I can't remember if there is a Panzer tank there or not, it's been a while.

I know they've got themselves a Sherman though.

That is very cool! My Pz Mk IV is quite a bit smaller (as in 1/32 scale!). That looks like quite the museum.

The History Channel here in Canada carries a program called Tank Overhaul. So far no Panzers, they have done a Panther and i thought they were working on a FlakPanzer. I have a facination with tanks especially WWI, within an hour and a halfs drive we have a Mark A Whippet and a Renault FT17 (but may be (probably a U.S. M1917 version though).

I would be surprised if the Tank museum at Bovington, Dorset, England has not got one. I used to spend quite a bit of time there many years ago, but I can't for the life of me remember seeing one there. There certainly ought to be.

Thank you for sharing your pictures. I'll have to add the museum to my "must visit" list.
