Great pictures.... Star's outfit is a perfect example of "if you are the right sort of person" mixed tartans work!

GREAT PHOTOS! Jamie thanx for posting them....I wish I could figure out how to post such large pictures ....but then I can't even get smaller photos to post so it really doesn't matter..
Oh! Oh! did I see the "dreaded white stockings" peeking out from behind the umbrella heh! heh! ......personally I see nothing wrong with White or off white hose and as a matter of fact sometimes I think they are quite alright ......Whether some folk think they should be put away never to be seen is a bit snobbish in my opinion ....If they think they signify rented attire, I say not everyone can afford to buy their own Highland gear and to put out a £1000.00 or more for clothing that will be worn only a few times a year seems wasteful.
I wear my kilts at every opportunity and have a fair few lovely different colours of hose, INCLUDING WHITE ONES and jackets as well but when I'm with others in kilted attire whether they be rented or not I just enjoy seeing and being with others in kilts ......Oh Ya' and by the way I'm partial to flame haired goddesses my self so well done both of you.....and Cheers to you both

Terry,
My personal opinion about white hose is that white is simply a color. It can look terrible with an outfit or it can look great. It really depends on the tartan and outfit. Part of the uniform of the Red Thistle Dancers when performing is white hose (unless we are in our Victorian outfits) so that is why we are wearing them. Mine are a nice hand knit pair with a cable pattern and quite thick (which is great for dancing!) and my McNicol tartan kilt from Rocky and Co. at USA Kilts goes well with them and my light yellow shirt.
Life is too short to worry about what other people think of white socks ;)
Cheers
Jamie
