Picked up my first handknitted hose at USA Kilts!

Just a few pics of my new hand-knitted hose I picked up today while visiting Rocky and Kelly at USA Kilts:

These are so much nicer in person...better yet, stop drooling and get your own pair (insert evil laugh here).

All kidding aside, these are handmade in Loch Lomond by Sandy MacPherson. Rocky suggested wearing 'bootie socks' in order to prevent odor and itching but I doubt I'll have much problem with either since I'm very attentive to personal hygiene and besides, my body just seems to love the feel of wool...

These socks are unbelievably comfortable, soft and pliant...they feel great, go on and off with ease and are just snug enough to stay where you put them. I can't believe I've waited years to buy a pair of these...what on God's green earth was I ever doing buying anything else? All the other kilt hose I own pale in comparison to these hand-knitted beauties. Seriously, consider me officially converted.

Anyway, as usual it's always a pleasure to visit with Rocky and Kelly...pay them a visit if you're in the area. And, Rocky (if you're reading this): Please, please, please get more of these in size 11...I'm definitely buying more (although at $60 a pair, it may be one pair at a time). Thanks.

    Nice looking kilt hose!

I like the X pattern on the front. I wonder if the color would work with the Xmarks Tartan...to go along with your XMarks Kilt pin
XMarks Belt buckle anyone? Bueller?!?

    Just a follow-up:

After wearing these beauties for the first time I can safely report that my feet were not warm, ever. I had absolutely zero discomfort wearing them all day (about 12 hours or so) and no noticeable foot odor after taking them off. In fact, I even sniffed at the socks (after removing them) and noticed no 'foot funk' eminating from the hose. Then again, I'm a clean freak so maybe that helped.

All in all, I'm impressed and will no doubt be back to USA Kilts to buy more.
