Pics of my new kilt from Barb Tewksbury. (spoiler...it's fantastic!)

Several months ago I got a new kilt from Barb Tewksbury. To my amazement she was able to locate 8 ½ yards of Ancient Red Rose V.S., a very rare tartan woven by D.C. Dalgliesh in their heavy weight cloth.
Barb lugged my in-progress kilt all the way to Egypt where it traveled to Cairo, Farafra and Aswan. Finally it made it’s way back to New York where it was sent to me in Albany. Unfortunately, right around the time of its arrival I was in the process of a big move to Madison, WI so I wasn’t able to take the basting out and actually wear my kilt.
Now that I’m more or less settled in my new Wisconsin home I can finally enjoy my new kilt and Barb’s fantastic work.
Here’s the kilt as it was sent to me with the basting in place…

These pics were taken yesterday at the Wisconsin Highland Games…

Thanks again to Barb for making this gorgeous kilt! Ever since I started wearing kilts I have wanted to own one in every tartan associated with clan Rose. This kilt fulfills that quest.
    that quest.

Wow and congratulations. That is a beautiful kilt. BTW I love the belt and sporran. You are very well turned out. Welcome to the Midwest. I hope you enjoy Madison. It's one of my favorite cities.

Wow! Beautiful kilt. Very bright and elegant looking - a real heirloom. I love that pleating to sett. Nice picture of the swish. Thanks for posting them all.

It looks great on you, too. Very nice outfit. Good-looking sporran, and the belt is particularly nice - never seen one like it. Congratulations.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

Absolutely fantastic! You have a kilt of kilts and are obviously proud of it. Kudos to Barb.
