    Pictures from Tuscany

These are some pics from my hiking trip through Tuscany last year. It was grape harvesting season so I couldn't resist sampling a bit of the local delicacy....

Kilts would make perfect sense for the grape stompers!

    Very nice!

I visited Tuscany last summer also...time stood still there, so much history...and the food and wine...fantastic!

Well all of the vineyards we went to showed us how they strip the grapes from the stems and then they are sent to another machine where they are pressed within an inch of their life. So...yeah...no more stomping a la Lucy.

The 9 days I spent hiking through Tuscany were amazing. So many small towns (Volpaia and it's 44 residents!) and so much good wine. We'd hike for three or four hours, return to an agriturismo for lunch and drink some wine, hike for two more hours, tour another major town and then take the van back home where we'd shower and hike another half a mile into town to have dinner and then hike back full of wine and gelato.
