Pink Kilt Hose Debut at the Grand Canyon

Working for the Navajo Nation we get all the normal holidays, plus a bunch of Navajo holidays, plus regular "Wellness Days." Today was a Wellness Day and the plan was for the agency staff to trek to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Seemed a perfect time to debut the new Pink Kilt Hose from Matt.

So here I am in front of the Kolb Studio at the top of Bright Angel Trail on the South Rim practicing my over-the-edge balancing skills.

Then the wind was from a good direction and strong...figured as good a time as any to show the world that I could fly...but a couple of my coworkers objected to the idea.

And finally, it was an amazingly beautiful day in the Southwest for February. This pic is at Desert View - aptly named because we can see back home from here. But I wanted this shot since just last summer I was on the river below looking up at this viewpoint.

Tartan is Macdonald of the Isles Weathered. 16 ounce Strome from Lochcarron. Hand sewn.
    Yes, it is a large sett...about 9" I believe.

Ron, all I can say is,....those hose work. I expected they would be a little brighter, but when compared to the sweatshirt, they're quite subdued. The look is comfortable.

Okay, let's talk about the important stuff,...the photos and the attempted bird-man imitation.

It's been years since I was last at the Grand Canyon, and your photos are always a welcome sight to these eyes. As for your aborted takeoff, well as an old pilot; I can say without a doubt, it would have been a great flight,......straight down.

Glad to see them looking good on someone else. Mine made their debut with my clergy kilt at a bluegrass jam. After initial
ribbing (PINK socks?), consensus was they worked well. And have with other kilts also.

It was a weird day in the kilt comment department. South Rim was full of the usual tourists...we chatted a lot with a couple bus loads of Amish both at Cameron Trading Post and later at the canyon. And another bus load of Dutch tourists. Lots of usual polite kilt comments, and the expected Z Coil questions, but not a single comment about the pink hose. Methinks Highlander31 called it - the orange hoodie sort of overpowers everything else....

Great pictures, Ron. Maybe it's the orange hoodie, but the kilt hose look more salmon than pink to me.

Good eye. Even nowhere near the hoodie, if I had to pick a color description for them I'd call them "Pink Salmon" as they aren't pink like in girlie girl pink but more the pink of salmon meat.
