piping at UofR graduation
Somebody snapped this of my piping last Friday at the graduation at The University of Redlands, which I have been doing for nearly 20 years.

It probably doesn't show up very well in the photo, but my shirt, vest, necktie, hose, and flashes are in the school colours of grey and deep red.
BTW does anybody know how to straighten a photo to the horizontal? The Chapel looks like the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

To straighten a photo: You can download "Picasa 3" for free. http://picasa.google.ca/intl/en/#utm...;utm_medium=et It can also adjust your dark red.

No offence, with that kind of a background I didn't see you at first. But I will say you do look sharp.

Looking sharp - and what a lovely day for a graduation!
I remember your thread asking about grey and dark red/burgundy tartans. Just out of curiosity (and because I undoubtedly missed it in the original thread) which tartan did you end up selecting?

Thanks Father!! I'm technically challenged and I might not have ever figured out how to do that. Can I have permission to use your fixed version?
About the tartan, yes that's the very gig for which I would love to have a burgundy & grey kilt. I just wear the kilt I always have, Drummond of Perth Muted HOE, which has a somewhat darkish red.
Funny about their school colours, the grey is always shown as a steel-grey, that is, a rather light grey, but the red can vary from maroon to claret to nearly a straight red (the latter can be seen painted on the ground in front of me).
Anyhow I have an Auld Scotland kilt which isn't quite finished which should be fairly good for these gigs.

You're more than welcome Richard, and it's your picture, so of course you need to use it. Technically challenged or not, go to Google, hit "more" then "even more" and download Picasa 3 for free - you'll love it and so will your photo album. It's designed for nodoniks like me! Just be aware that the first thing it will do is to inventory every graphic and photo on your computer, and it will take forever and you'll think your computer is destroyed. It isn't, and it'll never do that again.
