Super pics Ron. I think that owl's twin brother was at Gourock games yesterday. You would have been able to buy kilt pins if you had come to Gourock.

That's what they look like to me too. I see two or three flying over my house every other day around here.
I dare say they are probably the most "common" type of WWII aircraft still flying (due to numbers made). Hollywood also likes to use them as Japaneze Zeros.
As an aside, one time we were having a yard sale, lots of people. When we heard a buzzing in the air. Flying over was a 'squadron' (about 6 or 7) AT6's all painted up like Zeros. You could've heard a pin drop! The mood got very somber & weird. Must've been what it was like in those dark early days of the war. I've never forgotten it or the feeling.

Hey, I was there- looked for you Riverkilt and B. Somm, I was with the Glendale Police Dept. Pipe and Drums- mostly at the upper ramada, but spent time wandering around too. I was doing some photography for the band, but not my camera so I don't have photos to post. Once they are posted I'll provide a link. Had a grand time, at about 4:30 a bald eagle flew overhead, nice end to the day.
Regards,

How cool about the eagle!! We never got up the hill..."looked" up there and decided we could hear the music just fine without the climb. Shoulda, woulda, coulda.
The somber plane story reminded me of an incident in about 1964. Was in NROTC and they flew us down to Corpus Christi, TX to "sell" us on Naval Air. The Navy gave plane rides. Mine was in an S2F anti-sub plane. A bunch of guys got the AT-6 trainer rides.
Most of us were out on a very flat open field going from one place to another when four of the trainers made a straffing run at us. Four of our guys were in the planes too - probably their idea. We on the ground laid flat. No clue how low they came but to see four planes in formation making a straffing pass was frightening. Gave me a new appreciation for those who've experienced that scary feeling for real.
