My wife and I missed the Games, out in Vegas attending the USA Sevens.

I, being a piper, can relate to your pipe band photos more. Many old dear friends are to be seen in the ranks of the various bands! We're a tight-knit community.

If you'll allow me to play fashion critic for a moment, here is The Irish Pipers of San Francisco, a band that goes back to around 1930, consistently good. I've just never got the thing about wearing black shirts with the black vests, and now with the black hose it's a load of black.

And speaking of black, what's with the thing about black shoes, hose, and flashes together? Cool if at least the flashes had some colour.

The main advantage to wearing black hose is that you can have a mix of ghillies and regular shoes and they all look more or less the same.
