The diesel is most interesting, as it seems to be a direct traction engine, rather than the now standard diesel-electric.

The Pontypool and Blaenafon has a pub at one end though only open at lunchtimes on a Sunday or Bank Holiday.
And there is a rumour that the chap in the ticket office wears the kilt!
