RAF Kilt & Vulcan

First chance to dress the RAF kilt up a bit with the matching tie which I got last weekend, over at the airport for the Chief Flying Instructor's leaving do tonight, as he is going to be flying Boeing 737s for FlyGlobespan.

Specially for Ron, a close up of the tie.

Looking good Alex. I wouldn't tempt Ron with that tie though, or you'll end up with a little mail-order business. Trust me on this!

You look great Alex, very sharp, well put together outfit. An excellent backdrop as well. I hope you had a good time at the farewell do.

A good look! Thanks for the close-up.
I've no clue why but the angle of the pic with the Vulcan triggered memories of being strafed by four AT-6s at Corpus Christi Naval Air Station back in the early 1960's. The Navy had shipped us there to sell us on Naval Air. Some of our classmates were up in the AT-6s and they decided to make the strafing run on us. A totally helpless feeling and all of us on the ground wound up prone and hugging dirt even though I'm sure all the planes were well above us.

great photos. that RAF tartan is a nice one.
A James bond film had a vulcan crash and sink to the bottom of the sea to steal nukes. Can't remember which one. Connery starred, so an older one.
