Re: ASL Song, and Kilt + New Sporran
A while back, my dad asked all of you wise men under my request for ideas of how to sign "kilt" for a song project I did for my ASL class. So I just wanted to say thanks for all the help everybody and it all went very well when I signed the song, "Donald, Where's Your Trousers?" by The Irish Rovers today. So, yeah. Thanks! Here's also what I wore today while I signed the song.

Lots of people said it looked like I have a hairy, blue [appendage-not-safe-for-work] coming from my kilt (I have a rather immature group of friends, but I still love them all ), but I thought it looked rather cool.
Also, I know, I can't seem to have enough chain on my kilt. But that wallet chain makes for a pretty effective "kilt pin" with how if keeps the apron down.

So how did you sign kilt?

When given a choice, most people will choose.

Since it was a song, I signed "Scottish Skirt" (four fingers moving down then sideways on the left shoulder like a plaid pattern, then moving open hands from the hips down and out to make the outline of a skirt) then anytime kilt was repeated I could just say "skirt." But "kilt" is a combo-sign of Scottish and skirt.

You could use two to do the "skirt" sign, and eliminate the left shoulder bit.

It looks like you skinned a furry smurf for that sporran.
