    Recent kilted activities

    I haven't posted here in a while, but I've been having a fun summer/autumn. I ran two 50 mile+ ultramarathons:

We also attended the opera this past weekend but it seems I'm unable to upload those photos. I'll try again later.

    that's great

I'm not a runner but being kilted would make it better.

What kind of kilt do you run in? I've been debating getting a sport kilt to run in, but I'm not sure it would be better than or even as good as a pair of running shorts.

If you are into serious, competitive running, you would want to minimize your attire. A kilt would not be ideal. For fun running, a kilt works well and will bring attention and compliments.

I think running not one, but 2 ultra Marathons would qualify anyone as a serious runner!
    Well done!

Maybe Sportkilt can make a running kilt. Women have running skirts/skorts, so it shouldn't be a difficult concept.

If you are running ultramarathons you are more than a serious runner. You know that wearing minimal attire (weather dependant) is the way to go. When I did Boston years ago it was so cold I had to wear a light jacket, otherwise it would have been only a singlet and light weight shorts.

The lightest kilt made by Sport Kilt is the Hiking Kilt. Although it is made of microfiber it is longer and has more yardage than most "serious" runners would want.

I just realized that I got my replies mixed up. I quoted and responded to cck while thinking I was replying to kilted firefighter. My apologies, gentleman!

I've only run a half marathon, and am simply not fast enough to be serious competition for a serious runner.

Enjoyed having you in on whatever we were discussing. Keep a-running kilted or not.
