Red Gordon in Southern Utah and the Arizona Strip

Rocky had a special run of Red Gordon a few years back. Was wearing my Red Gordon casual today coming back from a weekend in St. George, Utah.

Stopped to look back at the Pine Valley Mountains that rise above the St. George area.

Then stopped at the west end of Gooseberry Mesa

Took the beautiful drive into Mocassin, Arizona on the Kaibab Paiute reservation - they call themselves the Kaibab Band of the Paiute Indians. Most Indian land, and much of theirs, is pretty bleak. This little pocket where the town of Mocassin is has lots of water drainage and resulting huge juniper trees and sage.

This view is looking East across the reservation.

I love the Arizona Strip - its bleak and barren but extremely scenic.

Great Pics! It reminds me of the Texas panhandle, minus the mountains.

Nice photos, Ron. You always give us such great vistas.

I was assigned to Phoenix for three months. Unfortunately, they had me flying in on Monday mornings and leaving on Friday evenings, so didn't leave much time for exploring the beautiful scenery that Arizona has.

Great pics! I love the Gordon red tartan, very smart sett. I believe there is a fantastic painting of the Gordon of Huntly (Dukes of Gordon in Badenoch), wearing a similar tartan. Very different, obviously, from other Gordon tartans.

    Thanks for sharing mate,
