    Rex visits USA Kilts

I took four days this weekend to visit with a friend of mine who moved to NYC a few years ago. We met near New Hope, PA, for an afternoon of tubing down the Delaware River.

On my way there, I stopped in at USA Kilts in Phoenixville, PA, and had the pleasure of meeting Rocky and Kelly at their busy, well-stocked and inviting shop.

I met there also a faithful customer of theirs with 17 kilts to his name, but not a member of this forum, and a groom-to-be looking for a kilt to wear to his wedding, who was also kind enough to take this photo for me.

In this photo, I am wearing one of their casual kilts in American Heritage, and all I can say is thank goodness for Velcro (see below)! It was great for a day of travel, too. Rocky is wearing one of the weathered Buchanans - and tempted me with a big pile of extra tartan offering to make one for me - well - it's on my wish list.

(Rathdown, please note that I polished my hiking boots before I left. I invoked your name with each pass of the buffing cloth.)

Things have been slipping off of me lately what with my shedding a few pounds and inches (like my sporran, as you can see), so I asked Rocky if he'd move a buckle and strap for a better fit on my Auld Lang Syne kilt that I commissioned from him. Before I had a chance to finish looking at the hardware in the case, he was finished with it and had me trying it on already.

Rocky was very kind and let me paw through his tweed samples for a while as he worked with his other customers. I'm laying plans for something new in the not too distant future if fortune cooperates. Meanwhile, he tempted me with all sorts of other wonderful options.

It's a pity that I could not spend more time there shopping and visiting, but I had places to go and they had a business to run, but I'm so glad that I made the stop - it was worth taking the extra day for it on my trip.

    Regards,
    Rex.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

    Hmmm.

I wonder if they make badger polish?

Good for you Rex...both on the weight loss and stopping by for a visit. I need to do both.
