Robin, Steve and Jim join me in Storrington
Yes folks, last week Robin came from Holland and Steve came from London to spend a day at Bicknell Grange here in Storrington where my good pal Jim was also staying for a few days.
We sat in the garden sipping coffee for a while before the obligatory photos were taken. Fortunately my personal photographer, Tri Self-Timer, was on hand to do the necessaries:
Ham, Robin, Steve and Jim at the sundial on the South Terrace.

Robin displays the pleats of the gorgeous Dutch Friendship tartan at the sundial.
More below.
Take care,
Ham.

After lunch at a pub in the next village, we went for a short stroll along a section of The South Downs Way on the hills above Storrington. [The South Downs Way is one of Britain's ancient routes, now designated a leisure trail, which runs along the top of The South Downs for 100 miles from Winchester, in Hampshire, to near Beachy Head at Eastbourne in East Sussex. Storrington is approximately half-way along the Way.]. This time Tri was unable to join us, or he got left behind, and so the camera was passed among us to record this historic 'Walking of the Way':
Jim, Steve and Robin striding out purposefully along The Way.
Robin, Ham and Steve pause, facing into the breeze from the sea, with Storrington nestling amongst the trees at the foot of the hill behind them.
Jim, Robin, Steve and Ham at The Chantry Post, marking the meeting point of several footpaths and bridleways on The South Downs Way above Storrington.
Then it was back to The Grange for tea. Steve and Jim involved themselves intently with vital computer work (you will soon be able to see the fruits of Steve's labours as he is constructing a fine website and new photo gallery for me), whilst I gave Robin a lightening tour of The Kilt Kollection (Robin, in our haste we missed a short garment rail, so you will have to return soon to see the kilts it holds!!). Robin had to leave us all too early, but it was so good to spend those few hours together.
Now I must spend a lot of time in getting that photo gallery together!
Thanks to three great friends for making that Saturday a memorable one.
Take care,
Ham.

It is indeed great to have kilted friends together, even if it is for only a short day. Great pictures of you and the gents on the paths around Storrington. Great scenery, in the background, for which the UK is famous.

Those photos makes one wish they were there. The strolling through the lanes look quite pleasant.
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

Hamish, great to see you all togther and having a bit of a stroll. Timewise we were a bit later than you all getting together but that is two kilted rable gatherings on the same day in two parts of the world. Here there were rabble members from two countries getting together and there the same.
Good for us all!
