    Talking Roman Bacchanal at the Texas ren-Fest

    Last weekend (11/5-6) was Roman Bacchanal, or as we call it "toga weekend" at the Texas Renassiance Festival. I didn't really get into 'photo mode', but here's a few;

    No togas, but my friend Sandy and I unintentionally color co-ordinated...

    A little Tartanic with the morning coffee gets ya' going.

    Lots of togas and Roman themed outfits were around.

    And then there's mini-greatkilt guy.....

    And of course, I took in a couple of Circa Paleo shows...

    Rennie princess, start them young!

    Due to work and stuff, this is my last trip out to TRF this year, even gonna miss Highland weekend.. But I'm looking forward to Sherwood Faire in Febuary!

    Nice photos, Z. Looks like a nice day to visit Rome.

    How many acres does the TRF venue cover?

    The faire village has about 53 acres 'inside the wall', not including the camping and parking areas, which is about another 70-75 acres. There are 17 stages, over 350 shops or booths, and about 30 food and drink vendors. Last year they had over 400,000 visitors over the 8 weekends.

    Hey, your leather jacket....where'd you get that? It looks like the swordsmans jacket from Sportkilt, which I have considered buying for a long time.

    I'd be standing fixed, front row and center to gawk at that pretty little fiddle player!

    I was half tempted to make the road trip to TRF this year. I may have to do it next year.
