Salmon fishing in the Highlands, Sept. 2009
Not the best season for salmon this year, but here are a few pictures of my family and friends trying to add to the score in late September. They caught 25 salmon in 6 days which were all returned safely back to the river. Sadly, I was not nimble enough to be where the action was, when a fish was caught.
An hour after dawn, all is quiet.

Trying to catch a fish before breakfast.

After breakfast,a better light.

A likely place for a fish.

Casting a good line.

Just an old picture to show what we are trying to catch!

Thanks for those Jock. Reflects great peace and solitude. No hustle and bustle where you are. You live in a lovely part of the country.

Those are views that cannot be surpassed. Thank you for sharing. There is something about a river running down through the hills that stirrs the body and mind alike.

Thanks for the photos, I have never been to Scotland, but it is a must now! I see why my family settled in Arkansas. We don’t have salmon, but we have beautiful trout streams.

Great photos, seems to be the true definition of peace and tranquility.. Thanks Jock for posting.. one day I may learn to fly fish, but for now.. I use a spinning rod for my game.. and the occasional crappie rod, for smaller fish.

Oh Jock - what a delightful series of photos! Its funny, your river looks so much like the Clearwater river in Idaho its eerie! I've spent many day there chasing steelhead - casting, swinging, and stepping down stream.
I sincerely hope that you will be out there in the thick of things come next season!
Thank you again for the photos!
