Saltire sky
Today was the first day of the season warm enough to sit out side with a book and a drink (first some coffee and then a few pints of my own homebrew). My Utilikilt Mocker kept me plenty warm and the narrow apron kept me modest as I lounged in my favorite Adirondack chair. Anyway, at one point i looked up to see this lovely sight...

Hope the rest of the Rabble are enjoying their days...

I wonder if Visit Scotland pays the pilots to do this with their vapour trails?

Oh, it's happened before - at the Salado Clan Gathering & Highland Games last November.

Soon thereafter, Robert the Bruce himself came down from Heaven and stole a sandwich out of my cooler (Well, somebody did).

Perhaps vapour trails are more likely to coincide like this nowadays.
But once when driving in the Great Karoo I saw two bands of cloud crossing each other like this. They were high up, at different altitudes, but they clearly made a saltire in the sky.
I saw a similar phenomenon captured in a coffee-table book many years later, but sadly I forget the name of the book.

Mike
