Scottish Backhold Wrestling at Ardenwood Tartan Day

Two or the heavyweights wrestle while Richcrail from XMTS judges.

Yeah, Randalls kilt got twisted 'round a bit. I think I can forgive him.

This is one of our wrestlers 1-year old daughter. It was just too cute to not put in here.

XMTS's own Arboribabe declares a winner.

Arboribabe acts as referee whilst Richrail and Frazer Hirsch from Scotland are judges.

Looks exciting. Does it have some similarities to Judo? Looks like the winner is the one that successfully throws the other to the ground, right? Very cool. I would enjoy watching that event (and likely getting involved in it as well--although, I'm sure I'd loose, it would enjoy it anyway!)

The beginning stance does not resemble judo at all, but the footwork and throws are in fact very-judo-like. I had hoped to recruit some wrestlers from the University Judo club, but seems that nobody was interested.

The one year old is undecided about the pipe band; she only has one finger in her ear. Thanks for the great pictures.
