Scottish Hame Xmas - just the twae o' us

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL AT X-MARKS

Finished my photoshoot with my new jacket and now wearing casual clothes ready to go into the kitchen. Just like Pour1Malt in his brekky kilt

Christmas dinner at the wee farmhouse table in the dinette - just Ann and I, with Baxter's Scotch Broth for a starter.

Plain fare compared to what you get in a hotel, but I thought I'd done well to get turkey, roast potatoes, chippolata sausages wrapped in bacon, and brussels sprouts all just ready for eating at the same time.

Christmas dinner together - just Ann and I, and a camera with a timer.

The chef. We fiished off with mince pies and coffee.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL AT X-MARKS

You might say it's plain fare but it sounds yummy. There might be some debate over Brussel Sprouts but am definitely PRO-sprouts....they're one of the nice things about this time of year...lightly steamed with a dab of butter...ooooh, yeah.

Nothing like a nice, quiet, homey Christmas...best to you both.

    Best

I might argue with AA on the sprouts but I'll say yummy to all the rest. (And good for you getting it all to come out at the same time - I can't seem to for the life of me. )

    Merry Christmas to you both.

Thanks for sharing your Christmas, Alex. Nothing like a meal shared with a loved one during the Holidays.

I see cooking for another as a labor of love, and it does not matter whether 'tis simple or fancy, it's about the act of making the effort.

Great pics! I love cooking and plain fare is a comfort for me. I was raised by Native Americans. Though the hardest part, is cutting out all that fat I learned to cook with!
