That's better than I envisioned when this project began last year. My biggest regret is poverty but am elated to see an end result than fit my mind's eye. Perfect.

Grand kilt! I know box pleats always seem to draw derision and sarcastic remarks about school girls around here, but they are wonderful kilts.
Most of my wool kilts are box pleated. The tartan is splendid.

Not from me they don't. My next kilt commission will be for a box pleater.

The Wildcat tartan makes a fine box-pleated kilt and looks great pleated to the stripe.

I am a big fan of box-pleated kilts - I have one made by John Hart that is well-made garment and is very practical in warmer weather. Quality is quality, regardless of yardage and box-pleated kilts deserve a place in the kilted universe.

Alan thank you for posting this. I am so very happy that the tartan I designed has been so well received. I absolutely love my knife pleated kilt and am glad to see it looks just as good as a box pleated kilt. I do know someone is making a Kingussie kilt in the tartan and I can not wait to see it and all the others being made across the globe. As an aside I have 3 box pleated kilts and while most of my kilts are knife pleated I must say box pleated kilts are no less a kilt and should not be looked down on. To my mind we should be celebrating our similarities instead of arguing our differences.

    Lovely kilt, lovely tartan.
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!
