Seaside Highland Games at Ventura
My kids and I went to the festival. They mostly did the games while I took shots and tried to hear the Highland Way when they played. I did get some socks and Cameron needed a new kilt. The games were great as usual. What happens when you combine summer, toe shoes and kilts (or cargo shorts. A strong throw.

Probably my favorite shot. Love the framing of the bars. I liked this also although it was accident that the sun reflection highlighted her crown thingy. evidence of the old highland saying "we jest can't have nice things"

Fantastic photos!
Sorry that I have nothing to add, except for this video of us competing on Sunday.
It was the first- and last- time the Long Beach Fire Department Pipe Band competed in Grade 3. We're a Grade 4 band but we "played up" in Grade 3 that day. We have been promoted to Grade 3 for the 2016 season, however we also parted ways with the Long Beach Fire Department. So going forward we are simply the Long Beach Pipe Band.
Sorry for the poor sound quality- the wind was blowing pretty good there.

Being the baby piper that I am, it's hard for me to tell the difference between the grade levels. Sounds great to me!

Thanks for sharing your pics.
Looks like lots of fun.
Hard to believe it was six years ago when I attended the Ventura Seaside Games.

I was supposed to be there but my band couldn't make it and I had something else come up that weekend. Didn't really feel like driving all that way to play a few solos. Though I had a good chance of taking the G4 solo aggregate for the weekend had I gone. Oh well. Looking to be G3 for solos next season.
