    shooting at strongman

I did a photo shot at a local strongman competition and wore my canvas kilt. One guy in particular thought it was the greatest thing ever. A few pictures of my daughter in the competition and then me. She had to military with the log (100 pounds), farmers carry 100 pounds, flip a 500 pound tire 10 times, pull the pickup 50 meters, deadlift 185 pounds as many times as possible in 90 seconds (she did it 21 times) and then I held up the tank.

    Looks like a good day.
How long has your daughter been competing?

Pretty impressive! You must be one proud dad. I lift weights like that, too - the one on the ground in pictures 1 and 2, ... if they let me use both arms.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

Thanks. She really is very strong. She's probably also IQ wise the smartest of our clan.

This was her first strongman/woman She won the farmers carry and came close in the deadlift, and truck pull. She had never done most of these events before and it took her a bit to figure out several out (like the truck pull). She has done two power lifting competitions now. It's nice to see her really getting into what I tried to teach her growing up.

Heidi. Yea she has done really well. She also had dropped nearly a hundred pounds over a couple of years and kept it off for at least 3 years.

I love lifting although it's the standard power lifting lifts. I tried to teach fitness to my kids and I am proud at how well they've done. My oldest boys national record in the dead lift (for 17 year olds 167 pounds) still stands at 455 pounds. My youngest boy (who starting learning the highland games events last week) holds the national records for 13-15 year olds at 167 pounds and at 181 pounds (dead lift 391 pounds and squat 309 pounds. He set those last month) Heidi is the only of my girls who do strength but one is a runner (not sure where she got that gene).

Will we see Heidi compete in a few Highland Games this year?
