This belt is from R-Kilts, I won it in a contest a few years ago, the buckle is from Gaelic Themes. I do not wear it often but it does get used when wearing my Montrose Doublet

Normally if I am going to wear a belt for daywear I usually wear one of the belts I've made. I used belt blanks and brass buckles from Tandy leather.

These are my traditional belts and buckles. The round buckle is from MacDonald Sporrans (great people to do business with) and the rectangular one is Clan Art. Both belts are leather with velcro adjusters. The brown belt was a £10 purchase at Anderson's Vintage in Edinburgh. Not THE perfect brown belt, but wanted one and the price was right.

The next pair of belts are a lot less traditional. They are my everyday, knock around belts. Both are about 2 in. wide. The three prong belt is remarkably versatile. Good for travel because it is wide enough for a kilt and still fits through most belt loops.

The buckle on the bottom is a Navajo sterling sand cast buckle c. 1970s. Picked it up at a garage sale -- a bargain. Worth twice the price just as silver scrap.

And lastly a couple of buckles that I use because I love them. First another Navajo sand cast buckle I inherited from my dad. I remember he bought this on the Rez near Grand Canyon about 1971.

This is a buckle that I got at Tandy, along with a 2 inch belt blank. My goal is to use it as a buckle on a ranger style belt, or to trim the ends of the belt to fit the buckle. Either way, I can still wear it with a standard 1 1/4 "trews" belt until then.

I like buckles a lot, whether for kilts or not. They are a way to have a little distinction in dressing without going too overboard. I guess it is the cowboy heritage coming through!

Calgacus I like the polish brass look its very classy. But I'd have to say the top 2 from gwynng are my kind of buckle. I really like them and the embossed belt of the very top one is all so real nice .

Question deleted. I was asking about the word "patten". I didn't understand that this was a typo and was meant to be pattern. Sorry. I would have deleted my post but I don't think that is possible on this forum.

Well, I've posted these photos plenty of times before, but I'm really fond of this belt and buckle. The belt was designed and made (and hand-tooled) by my wife.
