Shrewsbury taster ...

Spent a lovely day in Shrewsbury yesterday .. Shrewsbury is a border town (England/Wales .. also Cadfael territory).
Spent a lovely hour here by the river sipping beers and eating cheese n onion rolls, watching the world go by.
Took lots of pics and will post up on mon. Shrewsbury is one lovely place. Off to Bath today .. will take more pics

It is, indeed, a beautiful part of the world. I was born not far from Shrewsbury, near the village of Craven Arms, and spent the first five years of my life in the Shropshire countryside. In the early nineties, I returned to the area for the first time in more than 40 years and was amazed to find that it still corresponded to my early childhood memories of it. Even the wartime, temporary cottage I was born in was still standing (and, according to Google Earth, still is).

I live within striking distance of Shrewsbury, and have had some great days out there. A lovely town, but also good rambling territory round about. Great scenery.
