South Florida Highland Games and Scottish Festival
Happy Sunday all! Just wanted to share a little bit about the local highland games, which took place yesterday in Plantation, Florida. It was my first games attending, so I couldn't tell you where in the scale of greatness they landed, but I can tell you my family and I had a great time! We had a chance to do a little bit of everything, highland dancing demonstrations, athletics, story telling for the kids, and the pipe bands. The pipe band competition and athletics garnered the most attention as well as the sheep herding demonstration, which my kids loved, mostly feeding the ram and petting the dogs
Here are a couple of pictures of the band parade, it's almost impossible to take pics when you're chasing after two little ones all day!

All in all it was an enjoyable day, and I recommend anyone interested in these games to attend. Many kilties were in attendance, saw the one guy with the kilt on backwards, and I am pretty sure I saw a Newsome box pleat. I didn't get a chance to ask the gentleman, but it sure looked like one and was probably th nicest kilt out there yesterday (except for mine of course )
Here's also a couple of pics I was able to take with the cutest highland dancer aka my daughter and my son the sheep

I forgot to mention, the busiest tent was the Outlander fan club tent, which left me very dumbfounded. It was right in front of the beer spot, which might have played into it haha

Sounds like smart marketing to position the liquid entertainment next to the visual (albeit made up) entertainment. Glad you and the family had a good time.
