St Davids Day .. action replay

After a week of terrible weather Sat morning was glorious. No winds, blue sky and pleasantly warm. So without no further ado here are a stack of pics from the St Davids Day parade.

The obligatory pint of real ale before heading to the starting point

Heading to the start point which was the front of the National Museum of Wales this year. In fact the route was from here down into Cardiff Bay, about just over 3 miles.

People started gathering

Brittany and Cornwall also celebrate St Davids Day so dignatories and musicians and bands also come and join in the parade to celebrate

After 25 mins of speeches and singing the Welsh National Anthem both in Welsh and Breton we were put into legions of about 150 this year and we set off. We were put this way so as traffic could be allowed to pass through the gaps every now and again .. last created massive taffic jams

Went passed this church where my grandparents and great grandparents were married

Nearly at Cardiff Bay .. approaching the Opera House where just after the parade finished and eveyone dispersed

Then we went for the obligatory after parade beers .. this pic taken as soon as we arrived we aint got our drinks yet

Heres a pic from the eve before when we went and met Les n Xenia from our band in a bar in town .. That was a good nite to. Unfortunately Elaine was'nt on the march as she took off very early Sat morning to go to France .. She on tour with the Breton Band she works with for 16 days .. so I don't get to see her for a while ...

So, hope u enjoyed the pics .. it was a fab day out.
