State of Pennsylvania Tartan in Glen Canyon, Arizona

I love old friends! This lovely lady and I have been friends for 35 years. She's 75 now and she and her 54 year old daughter came for a visit after Burning Man this year.

On the top edge of Glen Canyon just a short way downstream from Glen Canyon Dam. Cliffs are 700 feet above the river here. The Vermillion Cliffs are in the background. USA Kilts casual in Pennsylvania tartan.

Down in the canyon at Petroglyph Beach.

Wading in the Colorado River. The water is 47 degrees F (9 C) and VERY cooling on a hot day. Background cliffs are 1,200 feet high at this point in the canyon.

The ladies at Lees Ferry at the end of the trip. The couple in the canoe had been up in Glen Canyon camping. The slope on the left of the photo is Lee's Backbone. In the old days after they crossed here on the ferry they had to get their wagons up that slope...or going the other way keep the wagons secure headed down to the river. Road was called the Honeymoon Trail since LDS settlers living along the Little Colorado River had to travel to St. George, Utah on this road to have their marriage sealed in the LDS temple there. Activity on the right side of the photo is all the rafting companies outfitting their rigs for a trip down the Grand Canyon.

Was a great day to share the river with old friends.
