"Steampunk" Highlander at Watch City Festival
Hello all,
I had a chance to visit the Watch City Festival in Waltham, MA, USA earlier this afternoon, kilted, and was fortunate enough to be able to get a few photos of myself with various, good-looking folk, plus one dog (also good looking!). Here are some of the photos:
Me + dog (not mine, but with an owner who, without my asking, handed me the leash!):

with The Queen!

The Queen and I then get photo-bombed by Tiny Iron-Man! ...

... who becomes sad and confused when we offer him a spot in the photo. I should probably work on my 'be welcoming to young children into photos, conversation. :-(

Finally, I was able to get a picture with Loki, who only offered it under the condition that I kneel before her, after the photo. 😨

Anyways, it was a fun time, with lots of cool people. If anyone lives in the Massachusetts, USA area, they put it on once a year, and most of it is free. Details are at https://www.watchcityfestival.com

I've found that steampunk events are a good, fun excuse to go possibly-overboard in terms of 'fancy' wear. There were a *lot* of folks in kilts, there. I'm thinking that next year, I may try to get photos of, or with, as many as I can. :-)
That dog seemed incredibly laid back and friendly. Its owner has been bringing him to a few, different sci-fi + fantasy events in the New England area, sometimes in the outfit shown in the picture. At one event, anyone who hugged the dog would get a sticker, signifying the hugging on their attendee-badge.
Additionally, and if I remember correctly, at a recent sci-fi/fantasy convention, that dog ended up getting some kind of costuming award.

If I see him again (and I hope I do! He and his owner were both incredibly friendly!), I'll ask his owner if that's where it came from. I've seen them both at a few, local, sci-fi + fantasy events. It wouldn't surprise me if that's where it came from!

Strike that...
It would surprise me if that movie *was not* where it came from! Some of the details, such as the bits around the head, look fairly spot on, to me.

He looks like a Great Pyrenees. They were used to protect sheep where I once lived. They are incredibly friendly unless with the flock.
Cool dress all around.

I always immediately think Pyrenees when I see a big white dog. Our family dog - crossed the rainbow bridge some years ago - was a Pyrenees. They are one of a kind!

The Steampunk thing is pretty cool.
At Cons you see Steampunk Star Wars, Steampunk Disney characters, Steampunk Game Of Thrones.
At this year's (2017) Long Beach Comic Expo I spotted this amazing Steampunk dog

I've never done Steampunk, the closest I've come is my Black Watch KD uniform, here at LA Anime Expo. (All I need, I guess, is to throw some goggles on that pith helmet!)
Oddly, people kept asking "are you the guy from Jumanji?" I had to look it up to see what they were talking about.
